Slept like absolute shit last night. I fell asleep OK, but then woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep. Probably got like 5 hours. Headache was still there this morning. I was sweating overnight. Insomnia is one of my fibro symptoms, so I guess that’s part of the guaifenesin cycling.
Somehow everything got a bit better as the day has gone on. I was really spacey early on. I went for a walk before I could feel the pain and nastiness hit. Let the crazy power my walk. Just sort of got on with my day, but was dragging ass. Somehow it just started getting easier though. Headache is still lingering, but mild at this point. My neck and shoulders have been hurting for a few days too. That’s a symptom. Ended up with a good dinner and feeling decent. I’m tired. I’m worn out from the 3 day headache and all the symptoms. Plus the 3 days before that when I was trying to figure out the right dose and was having big issues. Pretty much a terrible 6 days in a row at this point.
I’m wondering if I just survived a guaifenesin cycle. This is exactly how it’s supposed to work. When the cycle is over, it’s supposed to get better for a little bit, then cycle back to bad again. Hopefully I get a few days before the next bad cycle starts. I don’t know if that’s what’s actually happening. It’s wishful thinking really, but it’s how the book says it should be happening. I just had to get to the right dose. The lower doses were totally unbearable. The higher dose I took a couple months ago was unbearable too. 600 didn’t quite feel right. 900 is maybe better. Who knows. Only time will tell, and I don’t know how much of these rough days I can take. If it comes back around tomorrow and turns bad again right away, then I’ll start having difficulty getting through. Going to try another walk right now while I can. It’s getting cold out, so maybe the cold air will make everything numb and I won’t feel the pain.
